Very popular Fast food outlet in Penrith. The shop gets real crowded during weekends. Plenty of parking space available outside. Dine in and pick up options are available. There s an open area seating also available. The pricing is moderate to high. However, it s tasty. Allow around 15 mins before your order is ready.

Flappys was said to be a dupe of an American-based fastfood called Raising Cane s. Firstly, the place is overhyped. If you are in the area, it might be ok to go there and have lunch or dinner but not for people to drive far and try it. Their famous sauce tasted like Big Mac sauce without the pickles. Chicken was ok but without the sauce, it s pretty much tasteless. It was juicy though. Price-wise, we were able to rack up $53 for 2 meals that we do not know why there was an additional $9 for a 3pc chicken upgrade. Isn t a meal supposed to have 3 chickens as default(?). So it was $18 plus $9 (maybe $4.50) for chicken upgrade, I really don t get the pricing. Additional sauce will also cost you $2 each and it was quite small. It was their famous sauce btw. The place looks ok, American diner vibes. The overall experience was meh!

Pros Clean, spacious, fairly ok priced, easy parking. Cons Chicken - crunchy but flavourless Cajun onion rings - no flavour or seasoning Mac & cheese - very watery with no flavour. Overall everything was just missing flavour. Sauce helped but the sauce that comes with the meals are tiny.. suggest you order additional sauce.

Discovered from TikTok and yeah it was worth the hype. We got the family meal combo w original fresh lemonade. Everything was delicious, good value and well presented for take away. Juicy chicken, less oily than I anticipated. Sauces were all tasty. We waited about 55 mins to order but then less than 15 for food at around 2pm on a Saturday. The grounds are nice even if you want to eat on site but not inside.

After seeing social media hypes, we decided to visit Flappy s fried chicken and see if it matches the hype. The ambience was quite nice - I liked the space and the courtyard as you walk into the store. The menu was very simple, which I liked. It was a simple choice between chicken pieces, tenders and sandwiches. I ordered 2 piece chicken and a chicken tender sandwich (the classic). The server was polite and the food came out fast. To be honest, aesthetically, it was not appetising. The chicken pieces were small and were overwhelmed by the crinkle cut chips and very buttery garlic bread. The much-hyped gravy sauce was very, very salty. The sandwich was surprisingly nice though. It didn t tasted overly fatty (even thought it was fatty!) and the inclusion of pickle and slaws made it well balanced. Over all, I won t be driving out all the way out there for fried chicken, but if I happened to be in Penrith, I might stop by and eat a sandwich.

How do they have 3.7??? It s consistently 5/5 for me. Their food is top quality and that sauce! Chicken is always juicy and hot. I love their sandwiches too. A nice addition to the menu. I could easily go crazy with the sides. Be prepared to wait sometimes especially at peak times but it s well worth it. Given the hype, obviously they will be busy. There is plenty of seating indoor and outdoors with a retro vibe to it. Especially the old 50s style inside.

Yesterday was our third visit and it s gotten less and less good each time. Why were people lining up for it? The chicken is fine juicy but kind of bland and I even got the spicy version this time. Fries are very ordinary Slaw is good The house sauce meh The best things on the menu are the ranch and the lemonade Really not worth the drive And the people taking orders just seen incredibly annoyed that you are ordering from them. Probably won t bother going back

First of all, don t believe the hype from social media, Flappy s is if Red Rooster decided to open a bougie sister store, but barely upgrade the quality and taste of the chicken. As you can see from the photos, what we ordered were fries, nuggets, a classic sandwich (hot and spicy) and a classic box with upgrade to tenders for a $1.50 each - hot and spicy as well), alongside a milkshake, all for $69.00 Second of all, where is the spice? You ask for hot and spicy, and there is maybe some vague essence of seasoning, but it comes out like I just ordered the tenders without the spice option. I took my food back and asked if they perhaps mixed up my order. Nope, they reassured me it was their hot and spicy option. Absolutely pointless. Third of all, the quality does not dictate the high price, especially when everything tastes like it came out of a freezer bag. $69.00 for what we got, especially when it doesn t match up to their social media marketing is sincerely disappointing. There are other chicken places that do it far better, and you should definitely go there instead.
